This position reports to the Mill Operations General Foreman.
What You'll Do:
Â
- Provide oversight for the lockout and energy isolation processes in the Mill and Loadout
- Ensure all lockout and energy isolation processes and supporting systems are up-to-date, fully resourced, comply with OH&S regulations, and are in alignment with the site’s policies and procedures
- Act as the primary liaison between Operations, Maintenance, contractors, and project management teams for organizing lockout, confined space, and line break activities
- Create and implement lockout/energy isolation, confined space, lockbox and line break procedures
- Develop and control site standards for confined space and equipment lockboxes
- Care for lockout boards; ensure all necessary lock out resources are prepared, maintained, and ready for use, all required paperwork available
- Rollout and training for energy isolation policies and procedures for staff and hourly team
- Work with the Safety Department to update lock out policy and train employees, as needed
- Coordinate ERT and confined space rescue for shutdowns and turnarounds
- Work closely with Coordinators and Planning and able to read and understand a project or shutdown schedule
- Investigate and reporting energy isolation or confined space infractions
- Report to the Occupational Health and Safety committee in the event of a lockout, confined space, or line break incident
- Perform Capital Project planning implementation with Capital Project Coordinators
- Provide back-up coverage for Operations Coordinator role, when necessary
What You'll Bring:
Â
- Grade 12 Diploma
- 7+ years’ experience in an industrial plant/mill setting, with demonstrated strengths in lockout/energy isolation procedures
- Good working knowledge of Mill operations, processes, and equipment, including safety principles and procedures
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the OH&S regs with respect to confined space and energy isolation requirements
- General proficiency with Microsoft Office, EAM, Viziya or similar tracking and production reporting software
- Proficient in TK Pro Program
- Safety Commitment
- Effective planning skills
- Demonstrated ability to keep administrative work well-organized
- Excellent team direction skills, to help bring accountability to your team by creating a supportive and motivating work environment; front-line supervisory experience required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
