Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Site Accounting, Potash the Manager will lead the team that is responsible for providing financial and operations accounting expertise to support plant accounting functions.

What you will do:

• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month and year end close in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
• Responsible for overseeing all aspects of capital project and operations accounting
• Reviewing the general and subsidiary ledgers, on a monthly basis, to ensure accounting procedures are followed, making adjusting entries when needed
• Responsible for all aspects of the plant General Ledger including variance analysis
• Cost allocation review and maintenance and execution of product costing for each plant
• Responsible for performing internal controls and responding to requests from internal and external auditors
• Acting as a liaison with other departments to assist with financial analysis and communications related to accounting policies and procedures
• Quarterly certification reporting
• Leadership of Cory/Patience Lake Sr Accountant role and be the subject matter expert of site accounting matters
• Lead and support on-going continuous improvement initiatives and projects as required, including proactively participating in the identification and development of more efficient, value-add processes

What you will bring:

• Professional accounting designation with 10 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in a plant environment would be an asset
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify areas for improvement
• Curious, proactive and enjoy working in a collaborative, supportive team environment
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query)
• Experience with Oracle would be an asset
