Discover more about potash at Nutrien! An exciting internship opportunity awaits a motivated student at our Cory site beginning May 2025 for a 4-month term reporting to the Chief Mine Engineer. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete. This position is not available for remote work.

 

What you will do:

  • Coordinate with various departments to conduct tests, ensure accurate readings and take samples
  • Assist the Mine Engineering Department with various projects including rock mechanics, data collection and quality control, ventilation readings, analysis and instrumentation installs, mine production data analysis, geology and rock bolt mapping
  • Be responsible for analysis and reporting
  • Prepare samples for lab analysis
  • Conduct analysis
  • Ensure proper instrumentation and equipment function

 

What you will bring:

  • Current enrollment in at least the 2nd year of a mining or geological engineering program from an accredited university
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; team player who can positively and productively implement assigned projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent results/goal orientation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
  • Thorough attention to details and ability to maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly MS Word and Excel
  • Able to work collaboratively across multiple function
