What you will do:
- Design, implement, and maintain relational and non-relational databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Monitor database health and performance using tools and scripts; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Implement and manage user access controls, roles, and permissions in accordance with security policies.
- Collaborate with developers and data engineers to optimize SQL queries, indexes, and schema design.
- Apply patches and updates to database systems and monitor for vulnerabilities.
- Maintain and update documentation for database structures, processes, and policies.
- Support data migration, ETL processes, and integration efforts across systems and platforms.
- Participate in capacity planning and ensure scalability and reliability of data environments.
- Provide on-call support and troubleshooting for production database incidents and outages.
What you will bring:
- 3–5 years of experience in database administration or database development roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle DBA, or AWS Certified Database – Specialty are a plus.
- Proficiency in SQL and database technologies such as AWS RDS, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with database monitoring and tuning tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Performance Monitor, pgAdmin, OEM).
- Strong knowledge of data backup strategies, recovery models, and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
- Understanding data modeling, normalization, and indexing strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex database issues.
- Knowledge of security best practices for data protection, encryption, and compliance.
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO, is between $115,900 - $198,600, and in Chicago, IL, is between $110,400 - $189,300. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
