What You'll Do:
Â
- State Registrations: Take full ownership of state registrations for designated product portfolios, ensuring compliance with state‑specific regulatory requirements, including California, Washington, and Oregon regulations
- Label Review: Participate in label reviews to ensure correct label versions are registered with the States and meet applicable requirements
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor state‑specific regulatory changes, assess impacts to Nutrien products, and proactively communicate and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance
- Relationship Building: Maintain positive, professional relationships with state regulatory authorities, serving as the main point of contact for state registration matters
- State Registration Database: Maintain a comprehensive database of all state registrations, including renewal dates, submission deadlines, and other relevant information. Manage state electronic submission processes via individual state websites
- Renewals and New Submissions: Oversee renewal processes and ensure timely submission of documentation and payments; prepare and submit new registrations when required
- Regulatory Updates: Evaluate changes in regulatory requirements and implement necessary modifications to registration documentation and labeling
- Telus: Maintain accurate product information and registration statuses in Telus
- State Inquiries: Respond to inquiries, questions, and requests for information regarding product registrations, label updates, or other regulatory matters
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Regulatory Affairs, Product Development, Legal, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing to align and complete registration activities. Participate in product/formulation launch teams and assist with product life‑cycle management
- Industry Association Participation: Maintain awareness of regulatory changes through limited participation in relevant industry associations (AAPFCO, TFI, etc.) and share applicable insights internally
- Knowledge Retention & Process Documentation: Collaborate with regulatory leadership to ensure documentation of team and cross‑functional processes, retention of institutional knowledge, and regular updates to SOPs, templates, and guidance documents
- Training and Education: Stay current on industry trends, attend relevant training sessions, and share knowledge with the team to foster regulatory expertise and a culture of compliance
- Process Improvement: Maintain trackers and databases; identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve workflows
Other Duties as Needed: Perform additional regulatory or compliance responsibilities as assigned
What You'll Bring:
Â
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, chemistry, engineering, toxicology, environmental sciences, product stewardship, or related discipline)
- 6+ years of experience in registration of fertilizer, biostimulant, or soil amendment products in the US under fertilizer regulations
- Master’s degree in a relevant field or relevant working experience (quality control, R&D, regulatory experience in other fields) will be considered in addition to specific fertilizer registration experience
- Proficient understanding of state fertilizer regulations and AAPFCO requirements
- Knowledge of Canada’s fertilizer regulatory framework preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across technical and business functions
- Proven ability to manage complex registration portfolios and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Demonstrated skills in relationship building, process improvement, and knowledge management

Compensation & Benefits:Â

The salary range for this role, in Deerfield Corporate office, is between $75,300 - 118,000. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process. Â
