What you will do:
- Primary responsibility for the day-to-day voyage execution of a fleet of time-chartered gas carrier vessels, including providing voyage instructions to the Master and appointment of port agents and tug providers.
- Responsible for arranging for the supply and purchase of bunkers for all time-chartered vessels.
- Identify short- and long-term opportunities to optimize voyages and monitor vessel performance.
- Liaise with shipowners, port agents and brokers to ensure the efficient and safe transportation of ammonia cargoes.
- Maintain voyage itinerary and costs in voyage management system and oversee the timely payment of voyage expenses.
- Responsible for all voyage communications with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Responsible for the preparation and settlement of laytime calculations.
- Supports the development and delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the Vessel Marine team.
- Provides Director, Transportation Marine with a consistent stream of shipping and bunker market information to assist in directing the course of Marine strategy to achieve goals and objectives.
What you will bring:
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in gas carrier, tanker or dry bulk operations, preferably within a shipping or commodity trading company.
- Previous seagoing experience serving onboard vessels is not needed but considered an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple vessels and operational tasks simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with the capability to assess market trends, vessel performance data, and operational risks.
- Strong knowledge of marine fuel standards, regulations, and industry practices.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, is essential, with other languages an advantage.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range $82,900 - 153,800 annually. This range is estimated for the Vessel Operator role in Chicago, Illinois. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
