Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Remediation, this position will directly manage an EPC Contractor in the planning, design and execution of process modification and environmental control projects at the Conda Phosphate Plant near Soda Springs ID.   These projects are an output of a pending USEPA Consent Decree and will involve installation of new process systems (e.g., tanks, pumps, piping and electrical) as well as replacement/repair of concrete floors and sumps throughout the site.  The projects are anticipated to extend beyond a 5yr construction timeframe.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Responsible for planning and execution of Nutrien’s (Nu-West) Compliance Projects under the Consent Decree and other Nu-West obligations at the Conda Facility
  • Provide clear leadership, direction, and coordination for cross‑functional teams supporting project implementation, including internal stakeholders, consultants, EPC Contractor, equipment vendors and plant personnel
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with regulatory requirements, approved scopes, budgets, schedules, and Nu‑West capital governance standards
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and operational discipline to ensure safe and consistent, high‑quality execution of the project
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams during planning, design, construction, audits, and regulatory engagements, ensuring alignment on project priorities, timelines, and resource needs
  • Facilitate communication across project stakeholders to resolve obstacles, coordinate schedules, and maintain efficient execution projects
  • Forecast and control project budgets and schedules.  Effectively communicate schedule and budget status to internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate, collect, provide project specific information required to support regulatory reporting and notifications, and communications to internal stakeholders

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or Chemical Engineering; Masters degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in design and/or construction of Plant improvement projects
  • Professional registrations (PE, CSP, CPM) preferred
  • Experience with EPA or state enforcement actions or Consent Decree management preferred
  • Experience managing regulatory enforcement-driven projects
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • High level of initiative, accountability, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently in a regulated industrial environment
  • Collaborative mindset with strong relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders
