Discover more about Nitrogen at Nutrien! An exciting co-op opportunity awaits a motivated student at our Fort Saskatchewan site beginning May 2025 for an 8-month term. This is a temporary, full-time position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete. 

 

What you will do:

  • Support the maintenance team through the design and execution of improvement projects. Projects could include pump or seal upgrades, piping modifications, motor replacements, or any other improvements needed.
  • Work with members of the reliability team on Root Cause Analysis, Risk Assessments and Condition Based Monitoring Technology reviews.
  • Analyze maintenance history and failure data to prioritize improvements.
  • Opportunities will be available to support plant engineers and trades in troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as pumps, turbines, compressors, conveyors, heat exchangers, vessels and valves.
  • Student will gain exposure to maintenance management, process safety and management of change systems.

 

What you will bring:

  • Engineering co-op student pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work safely in an operating facility.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and accomplish multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
