This is a Summer internship starting in May 2026 which will last approximately 4 months (May-August) - upon completion of the  work term, students must be returning to school.

 

This position reports to the Operations Supervisors and is located at Nutrien's Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta site and is not available for remote work.

 

 

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and operate equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits 
  • Obtain Steam time working with the Shift Engineer 
  • Perform duties in a safe manner with a consistent awareness for well-being of all employees 
  • Water sampling/testing 
  • Troubleshooting abnormal readings or equipment to maintain safe reliable operations 

What You'll Bring:

  • Successful completion of 1st year of a Power Engineering Technology Diploma Program 
  • ABSA fourth class steam ticket 
  • Previous related work experience in an industrial/mechanical setting is preferred 
  • Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Exhibit exceptional decision-making and problem-solving skills 
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work rotating shift schedule (days and nights) of 12 hours per shift
