Reporting to the Loadout Supervisor and/or Loadout Crew Leader, the Loadout Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the loading systems and equipment associated with the Urea and Liquid NH3 loading processes. This position will also be responsible for the operation of assigned loading stations during their shift, controlling and coordinating equipment startups, shutdowns, and any emergencies that may arise during shift. The successful candidate for this role will possess the ability to work in a team environment, be self-motivated and work well under high-pressure situations while making safety their top priority. Strong communication skills will also be a critical component for success in this role.
What you will do:
- Participate in morning toolboxes, safety meetings, and inspections
- Complete progression system within prescribed timeframe
- Complete preventive maintenance on operating equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits
- Complete daily loading activities as specified by the Loadout Supervisor. Accomplished by a rotation based on the team personnel and daily shipping requirements of the Nutrien Shipping Department
- Work night shifts and additional hours as required
What you will bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of provincial and federal safety code requirements including TDG Regulations and Industrial Rail Operation Rules (IROR) preferred but not required
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, skid steer, Rail car mover, and front-end loader preferred but not required
- Demonstrated experience loading dangerous goods preferred
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email preferred
