Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance the Technologist, Electrical will manage site electrical documentation, projects, and maintenance, ensures safety compliance, supports troubleshooting, and coordinate long-term equipment planning and project closeouts. Successful candidates for this role will possess strong written and oral communication skills. Candidates who demonstrate a high level of field experience will be given preference.

This role is located at Nutrien's Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta site and it not available for remote work.

What You'll Do:
Â
- Site owner of electrical engineering documentation (SLD, protective device settings, hazardous area classification, etc), including authentication as needed.
- Support electrical project development and execution
- Complete electrical designs for MOC’s, coordinate and review third party electrical engineering
- Owner of the site ETAP model and power system study
- Owner of the site electrical PM’s, including monitoring PM/PdM results and initiating corrective actions to address deficiencies.
- Act as the site liaison between Nutrien, Sherritt and AltaLink for shared assets and utility interconnection.
- Provide day to day support to Operations, Maintenance and Planning on electrical equipment troubleshooting, repair and operation.
- Maintain and develop the site long range electrical equipment replacement program, including risk assessments, project prioritization and project initiation.
- Capital project closeout support, including equipment BOM and spare parts updates, and new PM development.
- Responsible for being the site expert on electrical safety & energized work.
- Review and support switching orders prepared by others for power system equipment operation and isolation.
What You'll Bring:
Â
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
- Professional engineering designation (P.Eng, P.L.Eng, P.Tech.Eng)
- 8+ years of relevant experience as an electrical engineer within industrial environments (oil & gas, petrochemical, or manufacturing preferred)
- Expertise in medium voltage and low voltage power distribution equipment
- Excellent knowledge of the electrical standard and codes (CEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, API)
