Reporting to the IT Manager – Nitrogen, the IT Analyst will be a member of the Geismar Site IT team and provide day to day support for a complex industrial environment at the Geismar Nitrogen Site.  As part of the Gesimar Site IT team you be comfortable doing everything from providing support to users to implementing advanced networks to collaborating on the use of innovative technologies to solve business problems.

 

What you will do:
 

  • Maintain and support the core information systems of the entire site.   Examples: Server, Network, Telecommunications, Security systems
  • Analyzes, designs, implements, and maintains network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and security, across both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) domains, ensuring seamless operations and data security
  • Advanced knowledge of network design, topology, systems interface, and protocols to meet support requirements
  • Monitor network activity, troubleshoot servers, routers, switches, and telecommunications software and hardware at the site. Monitor and analyze network and system logs related to security and performance issues
  • Provide support for backups, business resiliency, disaster recovery, business continuity, and business resiliency. Identify, investigate, and provide timely resolutions to Data Center and Network issues
  • Provide end user support via telephone, remote desktop, or onsite.
  • Participate in lifecycle management of desktops and related peripherals, IT Servers, Network equipment, multi-function printers and other IT equipment
  • Ability to work effectively with end-users, gain their confidence, understand their technical and operational needs and translate them into viable technical solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as necessary.
  • Lifting & moving of equipment weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.

What you will bring:
 

  • Two-year diploma or four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology
  • 2+ years of IT related experience supporting a mining or industrial environment
  • Knowledge in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, and security systems
  • Experience with Process Control Systems, networking, and the Purdue Model is preferred.
  • Proficient in Windows systems administration (e.g., Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS), cloud services and Office 365
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
  • Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Comfortable working under challenging deadlines, multiple competing priorities and demonstrates a high-level of adaptability
  • Shows a willingness to ensure time is used productively and aligns with priorities
  • Have a willingness to extend knowledge, share information with peers, management, and business users.
  • Willingness to grow through continuous learning of new tools and technologies and soft skills
  • Maintains appropriate professional designations and up-to-date knowledge of current information technology techniques and tools
