This is a temporary, full-time, hourly paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete. This position is not available for remote work. Work will be both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Outside the office, standard work wear will consist of hard hats, safety boots, safety glasses and ear plugs, with other items as needed; these items will be provided

 

What you will do:

  • Perform gap analysis and implementation of reliability based best practices from the Nutrien Engineering and Technology Center in opportunity areas that will have the greatest impact to the site.
  • Exposure to engineering and reliability best practices that can be to applied in future career.  The intern will also learn the nuances of day-to-day life in an industrial facility, and be exposed to the inner workings of various types of equipment and processes.
  • Project administration responsibility associated with capital projects, including: specifications, prepare purchase requisitions, process hazard reviews, operational and maintainability reviews and bid analysis, act as resident project engineer, direct contract engineering services, cost controlling and reporting, project schedules and status reports.
  • Manages and/or coordinates the planning, scheduling, cost control, construction activities training and startup associated with capital or major modification projects.

 

 What you will bring:

  • Currently enrolled and in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent related program with a graduation date of December 2025 or later.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work at heights, outdoors, and around potentially hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be able to hear and understand audible alarms, changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communications.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft’s Office Suite.
