The Maintenance Department Supervisor ensures the safe and efficient execution of the maintenance work process within the Greenville Plant.  This position works with production employees on understanding maintenance/reliability issues, scheduling maintenance functions according to the production schedule, and ensuring that maintenance functions are completed safely to produce a quality product.

What You'll Do:

  • Manages, motivates, trains, and builds expertise for maintenance personnel.
  • Promotes and continually improves the safety culture of the work group and site.
  • Works with the site leadership to develop and lead an overall maintenance and reliability improvement strategy for the site.
  • Work with Operational Supervisor and planner/scheduler to manage maintenance employees to work on projects, repairs, and preventative maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Oversees the hiring and use of contractors and contracted maintenance employees working on company property and equipment, ensuring they work safely and efficiently.
  • Works with maintenance planner to oversee and utilize the SAP system to track projects, purchases, preventative maintenance and work orders.
  • Develops and executes small projects in order to improve plant operation and reliability.
  • Build and document a thorough knowledge of plant equipment and machinery.
  • Recommends and purchases new equipment, tools, and repair parts, within budget, assisting in the Capex process as necessary.
  • Assists in the purchase, design, and installation of equipment in work areas.
  • Responsible for maintaining an efficient parts and supply inventory assuring that critical spares are maintained and available when needed.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment for the maintenance department
  • Maintains and promotes positive team relationships within the Maintenance team and the site employees.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering; experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Preferred 3-5+ years of plant experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and able to work well with other employees.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple improvement initiatives.
  • Must be physically and medically capable of wearing a respirator.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders. 
  • Ability to work in close quarters, elevated workplaces, and confined spaces.
  • Capable of working in varying temperatures.
