We are seeking a student to support our Network & Telecom team with a primary focus on technical documentation. This is an entry-level, non-configuration role designed for a student who excels at writing, synthesizing information, and translating technical concepts into clear, well-structured documentation.

 

The successful candidate will work alongside network and telecom professionals to document systems, processes, standards, and operational practices. While this role does not involve hands-on system changes or configuration, familiarity with networking terminology will be beneficial to effectively interpret source material and discussions.

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Create, update, and maintain clear, accurate documentation related to network and telecommunications services
  • Translate verbal explanations, diagrams, and informal notes into structured, readable documents
  • Review existing documentation for clarity, consistency, and completeness
  • Organize documentation repositories to improve findability and usability
  • Support the creation of:
    • Process and procedure documents
    • Service descriptions and overviews
    • Operational runbooks and reference materials
  • Work with technical staff to validate accuracy and intent of documented content

 

What This Role Is Not:

  • No network configuration or system administration
  • No on-call or operational support responsibilities
  • Not a software development or IT support role

What You'll Bring:

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Strong written communication skills, with attention to structure, tone, and clarity
  • Ability to interpret technical discussions and ask effective clarifying questions
  • High attention to detail and consistency
  • Comfortable working with document templates, style guides, and versioned content
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple documentation tasks

 

Helpful (But Not Required)

  • Basic awareness of networking or telecommunications concepts (e.g., understanding what routers, switches, firewalls, or circuits are at a conceptual level)
  • Experience writing technical, academic, or procedural documentation
  • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Confluence, or similar documentation platforms

This role is well suited for a student studying communications, technical writing, business, or a related field who enjoys making complex information understandable. Success in this position depends far more on writing quality, interpretation, and organization than on technical depth.
