Nutrien is now taking applications for an Electrical Engineering Co-op Student position at our Kennewick, Washington Nitrogen facility.

 

  • This role is open to current Electrical Engineering students with a graduation date of December 2025 or May 2026. This position is not available for remote work.
  • Work will be both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Outside the office, standard work wear will consist of hard hats, safety boots, safety glasses and ear plugs, with other items as needed; these items will be provided
  • Term: 9 months with potential to transition to a full-time Engineer-in-Training role.
    • June 2, 2025 – March 13, 2026 (Dates can be adjusted to coincide with school schedule)

 

What you will do:

  • Assist the Department with various duties, including:
    • Survey the settings in the circuit breakers.
    • Develop project estimates for potential new projects.
    • Develop engineering specifications for electrical projects.
    • Work with electricians and contractors on large projects that are in progress at the site.

 

What you will bring:

  • A Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related program with a graduation date of December 2025 or May 2026.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work at heights, outdoors, and around potentially hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be comfortable and physically capable of entering and working in a confined space.
  • Must be able to hear and understand audible alarms, changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communications.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft’s Office Suite
