Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Welder Technician position plays an integral role in the safe, reliable production of nitrogen-based fertilizers at the facility.  This role requires a dynamic individual who is extremely safety conscience and willing to perform a variety of  related tasks.

 

What you will do:

  • Ensuring safe and efficient work practices i.e.. housekeeping, tool care, permitting, WHAT cards and productivity
  • Following and adhering to all safety policies, procedures, performing JTO’s, participating by entering near misses, reporting incidents and attending safety meetings as required
  • Performing daily maintenance by welding , cutting, reading drawings, layout, bolting and maintaining stationary equipment
  • Performing daily and routine preventative maintenance (PMs) as required
  • Performing Pipe Fitter Welding work including major overhauls of equipment
  • Documenting repairs and reliability information on equipment
  • Following written procedures and completing detailed checklist
  • Working closely with contractors, vendors and internal departments to develop PM standards on equipment
  • Attending and completing required training internally and externally specific to job skills as required
  • Operate mobile equipment as required

 

What you will bring:

  • High School Diploma
  • Must have ability to qualify to ASME B&PV Code Section IX for welding carbon and stainless-steel pipe in all positions using SMAW and GTAW.
  • Specific working knowledge of all types of welding, cutting, blueprint reading, layout and bolting
  • High level of skill in the use of all types welding techniques and ASME welding standards
  • Proficient in welding equipment use and best practices
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and data management systems including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Capable of reading a detail drawings, drawing specifications, detail interpretation and perform work following drawings
