What You'll Do:
Project Design & Execution
- Develop mechanical designs, prototypes, and upgrades using specialized software
- Inspect, monitor, and report on project progress and quality
- Stay current on new technologies and apply innovative solutions
Equipment & Systems Support
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend improvements to reliability, safety, and productivity
- Investigate equipment failures and repetitive problems; recommend corrective design changes
- Support major overhauls, modifications, and maintenance activities
- Support reliability efforts with improvement projects/infield work as required
Planning, Budgeting & Documentation
- Prepare bills of materials, cost estimates, and requisitions
- Track project costs and maintain accurate engineering records, drawings, and equipment files
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and purchasing to source materials effectively
Coordinate Work & Engage Stakeholders
- Partner with the Maintenance Engineering Team and others within the Mine Maintenance Department on scheduling and prioritizing work
- Participate in key meetings, communicating updates, impacts, and required actions
Safety, Training & Leadership
- Provide direction and supervision to service providers
- Ensure all work follows safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a safe work environment and participate actively in safety programs
What You'll Bring:
- A Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma, Mechanical Engineering Degree, or equivalent
- A minimum 2+ years of experience in industrial, plant, mining, or construction environments; however, a range of experience will be considered
- Experience in project work, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance engineering
- Proficiency with Inventor or AutoCAD is considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple groups
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and solve complex problems with creativity
