What you will do: 

  • Lead and support rock mechanic studies in an underground potash mining environment
  • Install, monitor, and maintain the rock mechanics instrumentation network
  • Process and analyze geotechnical data
  • Support mine ground control with inspections, measurements, and plan creation
  • Continuously improve rock mechanics data methods and technology
  • Continuously improve ground control methods and technology
  • Various other field and office duties to support the continued safe and productive operation of the mine

 

What you will bring: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan or equivalent provincial regulatory authority (if applicable)
  • Varying levels of engineering experience and qualifications will be considered (Engineer-in-Training, Engineer, Senior Engineer, etc.)
  • Knowledge of operating, safety, and technical aspects of current mining practices considered an asset
  • Qualifications or experience in rock mechanics instrumentation and/or ground control
  • Potash mining experience is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CAD
  • Proven ability to produce high quality deliverables reliably in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated positive safety behavior and safety leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills are essential
  • Ability to develop technical and analytic skills to excel in a complex operating environment
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training and exposure to underground processes
