What You'll Do:

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for the safe planning, coordination, and execution of all underground mining activities, ensuring operational excellence and long-term sustainability of the operation.
• Actively participate as a member of the Site Senior Leadership Team, helping shape the strategic direction of the operation through informed decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and enterprise thinking. Contribute to the development of site-wide objectives, organizational initiatives, and long-term business strategies to ensure the continued success of the operation.
• Develop and execute short and long-term operational plans, ensuring organizational resources, budgets, and capital investments are effectively managed to deliver sustainable business results.
• Maintain fiscal accountability and stewardship through effective planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management while ensuring operational reliability and long-term viability of the mine.
• Champion a Culture of Care by creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and respectful workplace where safety is embedded in every decision and activity.
• Build, foster, and model Nutrien's Core Values across all department activities, driving a culture of integrity, accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of leaders, staff, and hourly employees to achieve and exceed site goals related to safety, production, reliability, employee engagement, and cost performance.
• Drive employee growth and organizational capability through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, career development conversations, and support for training and development initiatives.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing, problem solving, and standardization within the site and across the Potash network.
• Partner closely with the Mill General Superintendent and other site leaders to ensure alignment and achievement of critical site performance metrics and business objectives.
• Lead labour relations activities within the department, fostering productive relationships with union leadership.

What You'll Bring:

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in mining or a heavy industrial environment, including at least 8 years of progressive leadership and management responsibility.
• Engineering or Technical Degree from a recognized university is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, relevant industry experience, and demonstrated leadership will be given full consideration.
• Demonstrated success leading large, multi-disciplinary teams in a complex operational setting, with a strong focus on safety, performance, and employee engagement.
• Proven ability to build high-performing teams and develop leaders through coaching, mentorship, accountability, and talent development.
• Strong knowledge of mining operations, maintenance practices, engineering principles, capital project execution, and operational risk management.
• Experience managing labour relations matters within a unionized environment.
• Exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage, inspire, and align employees at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex operational strategies, business priorities, and organizational changes clearly and credibly with frontline employees, union representatives, senior leadership, and corporate stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to evaluate complex issues, balance competing priorities, and drive sustainable operational results.
• Sound understanding of applicable legislation, regulations, and safety management systems.
• Proven ability to foster collaboration, build trust, and establish positive working relationships across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
