The Mine Operations Coordinator will report to the Mine Construction General Foreman.
This position is located in Lanigan, Saskatchewan and is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
- Coordinate with area operations, mechanical, electrical and contractor groups on continuous improvement and special projects to improve operational reliability and productivity
- Coordinate and prepare schedules for the execution of work plans, project work and tasks
- Coordinate with Mine Operations GF’s and Supervisors to assign workforce and timeframe required to complete break-in work and maintain operational plans
- Manage break-in work safely, efficiently and with minimum production loss
- Maintain downtime reporting by validating events in RTDuet and running weekly and monthly reports as required
- Ensure assets are available when required to execute work
- Coordinate equipment including tracking for equipment not in use
- Ensure all required permits and lockouts have been considered for executing work
- Prepare daily work lists and prioritize activities to meet operational goals
- Coordinate and support Operator Driven Maintenance activities, if applicable
- Work with Mine Department leads to recommend alteration or modification to existing systems and provide technical advice to personnel for improving operating efficiency
- Perform required compliance check and area inspections
- Work with Mine Engineering to help develop plans for cutting rehabs and critical infrastructure in the brine areas, if applicable
- Coordinate lowering and haul of Operations materials and capital infrastructure, if applicable
- Utilize EAM and other administrative tools to prepare requisitions and work requests
- Collaborate with Operators, Supervisors, AMO, Continuous Improvement, and other stakeholders to identify and document best practices
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of development programs through assessments, observations, and feedback from participants
- Prepare regular reports on outcomes and identified areas for further improvement
- Ensure all programs are compliant with safety regulations and company policies
What you will bring:
- 8- 10 years of experience in underground mining, with specific experience in borer operations preferred
- Must hold a valid underground supervisor’s certificate, certified by the mines branch
- Must have a solid understanding of the potash mining process and the factors that impact safety and cost, effectively meeting operational business objectives
- Experience in a supervisory capacity specific to underground potash operations is required
- Knowledge of operations planning and scheduling process and tools
- Strong understanding of potash mining operations and safety regulations
- Strong working knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
- Proven experience in designing and delivering employee development programs
- Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, or similar fields are an advantage
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Construction/Project Management experience is an asset
- Experience and knowledge of the brine pumping systems and potash inflows is an asset
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)/Oracle
