The Maintenance and Reliability Coordinator ensures the safe and efficient execution of the maintenance work process within the Levelland Plant. This position works with production staff on understanding maintenance/reliability issues, scheduling maintenance functions according to the production schedule, and ensuring that maintenance functions are completed safely to produce a quality product.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Manages, motivates, trains, and builds expertise for appropriate plant staff in basic maintenance functions.
  • Works with the site leadership to develop and lead an overall maintenance and reliability improvement strategy for the site.
  • Utilizes the SAP system to track purchases, preventative maintenance, and work orders.
  • Collaborates with Operation group and develop plans/schedules to manage maintenance work on projects, repairs, and preventative maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Oversees the hiring and use of contractors and contracted maintenance employees working on company property and equipment, ensuring they work safely and efficiently.
  • Recommends and purchases new equipment, tools, and repair parts as necessary and within budget
  • Assists in the Capex process from project scoping through commissioning., within budget, assisting in the Capex process, as necessary.
  • Maintains efficient parts and supply inventory, assuring that critical spares are maintained and available when needed.
  • Facilitates modification/changes of equipment to meet Process Safety Management standards and elements.
  • Manages life-critical permitting for maintenance activities being completed by both internal resources and contractors.
  • Develops and maintains key maintenance metrics for equipment down time, work order completion, and adherence to schedule.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves basic issues with PLC, controls network, programming, HMIs, and VFDs.
  • Utilizes and involves corporate resources in developing the maintenance process, software, standards, and best practices.

What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, experience in lieu of education may be considered; college degree in technical or engineering field preferred. 
  • Preferred experience in maintenance logistic software (SAP/Oracle/etc.)
  • Working knowledge of industrial mechanical, pneumatics and environmental systems
  • Basic electrical knowledge with the ability to pass Nutrien basic electrical certification.
  • Exposure to PLC and basic troubleshooting.
  • Preferred 3-5 years of plant experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and able to collaborate well with other managers, employees, and contractors.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple improvement initiatives.
  • Ability and willingness to be available after normal working hours for support, troubleshooting, and maintenance-related issues.
  • Must be physically and medically capable of wearing a respirator and fall protection equipment.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Good Manual Dexterity.
  • Ability to work in close quarters, elevated workplaces, and confined spaces.
  • Capable of working in varying temperatures.
