What You'll Do:

• Provide leadership to the accounting team and be the subject matter expert on site accounting matters
• Day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department with major emphasis on completion of month end procedures including closing of sub-modules, preparation of journal entries, review of the general and subsidiary ledgers, analyzing financials and communicating the results to management and various stakeholders
• Participate in policy alignment initiatives and implementation
• Participate and lead automation, standardization and process improvement projects spanning across multiple sites
• Verify the proper accumulation of product flows through our production areas and verification of month end accumulations and reporting (OPM)
• Raw material and finished product cost accounting
• Understand, identify and implement required internal controls, including certification reporting, audit responses and SOX controls
• Management of the physical asset verification process
• Ensuring balance sheet accounts are effectively analyzed and managed
• Oversight of capital project and asset accounting including; assisting with project setup, asset verifications and property tax reporting
• Act as a liaison with other departments to assist with financial analysis and communications on accounting policy and procedures
• Apply effective people leadership skills leading a team through performance management and career development
• Provides support & feedback to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks

What You'll Bring:

• An undergraduate degree and a recognized professional accounting designation with a minimum of 6 years of related experience
• 2 or more years of supervisory experience is preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle, HANA and Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables etc.)
• Experience in a plant environment is preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Accounting/financial concepts and principles, GAAP/IFRS applications in a business environment, and Management accounting principles
• A willingness to embrace change and have a "process improvement" mindset

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders
