What You'll Do:
Â
- Ensure compliance with the elements of Nutrien's Safety and Environmental systems
- Actively present/participate in safety meetings, inspections, field audits, accident investigations, project reviews, staff meetings, etc
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Project Engineering to mitigate occupational safety risk
- Anticipate and recognize, through statistical analysis and communicates the areas of concern and develops programs to improve awareness, change behavior, etc
- Lead safety incident management processes including incident classification, investigations, corrective actions, and sharing lessons learned across the plant
- Maintain a presence in the field – about 50% of time spent on coaching/mentoring contractors and employees
- Support regulatory compliance & training such as OSHA, EPA, PSM, RMP and others
- Model Nutrien’s core values of safety and integrity, lead and enable an inclusive culture in which you and your team are actively contributing to a safe work environment by utilizing Nutrien’s culture of care
- Familiarity with high-risk work hazard control programs including Hot Work, Confined Space, Line Break, Energy Isolation, Cranes, Working at Height, and Excavation
What You'll Bring:
Â
- Bachelor’s Degree in field of Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Science or 6+ years of experience working in a related field
- Working knowledge of OSHA and Environmental Standards/practices
- Knowledge of incident investigation techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and other database programs preferred
- Ability to work various hours as needed for plant operations/shutdowns
