Reporting to: Superintendent, I/E

This person is responsible for: Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for overall execution of corrective and preventive maintenance on low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment, motors, and plant equipment.

What you will do: 

• Model Nutrien’s core values of safety and integrity, lead and enable an inclusive culture in which you and your team are actively contributing to a safe work environment by utilizing Nutrien’s culture of care.

• Work safely in an industrial environment following policies and procedures
• Participate in safety meetings and inspections, and following standard operating procedure
• Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, install and wire all electrical equipment, devices and circuits of any voltage on site
• Perform routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical, electronic, pneumatic, digital, mechanical devices and control systems
• Direct, coordinate, and utilize the abilities and skills of other persons in the trade group, other assisting trade groups, trainees to maintain all instrumentation and electrical equipment to a high level of reliability
• Provide electrical and instrumentation project support to implement planned outages, MOC's,  and projects
• Work closely with contractors, vendors and internal departments
• Use computer tools to record failures, document repairs and document plant equipment history
• Work as a productive team member and support continuous improvement

What you will bring: 

• A high school diploma or GED is required
• Valid Journeyperson Electrician license or equivalent is required
• Demonstrated experience as an Electrician in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
• Positive safety behavior and a safety mindset
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a labor-intensive team environment as well as self-guided
• Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact positively with co-workers and supervisors
• Willingness to learn and gain required knowledge and experience through training
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Adaptability, flexibility, and open to change in a varying work environment
• High initiative and willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges without being asked
