Reporting to the Vice President, Loveland Products, you will work with a high performing, collaborative Business Development group with a strong track record of strategic planning and transaction execution. 

 

What will you do:
 

  • Design, draft, and lead the implementation of our mid- and long-term strategy for 3rd-party growth of proprietary products globally.
  • Build global market position of proprietary technologies by locating, developing, defining, and closing 3rd-party business relationships.
  • Maintain effective relationships inside and outside to ensure successful planning and execution of development and commercial projects.
  • Locate and/or propose potential business deals for Nutrien proprietary technologies across the agriculture value chain.
  • Identify and incorporate new innovations and technologies from multiple sources, actively seeking out new strategic partnerships.
  • Lead team to close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Lead relationship and strategy outcomes with Equity partners.
  • Technology/product portfolio rationalization with the commercial teams.
  • Support all areas of transaction implementation including research, opportunity evaluation, due diligence, and documentation.
  • Perform complex and detailed financial modeling and valuation analysis of potential acquisitions/divestitures.
  • Actively participate and lead as required on projects.
  • Publish opportunity- and/or technology-specific build, buy, or partner / license strategies by opportunity.
  • Utilize and leverage available digital technologies to complete work accurately and efficiently.
  • Lead and perform work the Nutrien Way – engaging in corporate, policies, programs and practices, including SH&E regulations and standards, to bring our Culture of Care to life.

 

What will you bring:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 15+ years’ experience in Corporate Development, Finance, Consulting, or related roles with thorough analytical and financial modelling capability and demonstrated ability to interpret financial statements and financial information.
  • Strong sales ability with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to work effectively with other groups in the organization to achieve a common goal.
  • Experience with financial databases (Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.) is considered an asset.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of agricultural products and practices.
  • The highest ethical standards and sense of accountability. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power Point, Word, and Excel.
  • Clear and effective decision making, with emphasis on data-driven approach.  

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range $126,700 - $217,200/annually. This range is estimated for a Director, Business Development in the State of Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
