What You'll Do:

Nutrien Ag Solutions, Inc. has opening for Manager, Software Engineering in Loveland, CO. Lead a team of six to eight software developers working on building next generation of cloud-native Digital Service platform. Deliver premier software by mentoring squad members on software development best practices. Identify software delivery problems within the team and use your knowledge and experience to help resolve issues and also mentor team members. Help development teams take on challenging problems by having a bias for action, including breaking problems into workable chunks, using iterative development, and leveraging software architecture design patterns. Partner with Digital Services & Engineering teams, Product Management, UX Development, Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Security, and business stakeholders to create product roadmaps and release schedules. Oversee the development of data pipelines, products and services and manage stakeholder communication. Develop strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders. Drive Agile software engineering practices and ceremonies, including grooming, planning, and retrospectives. Advance the development of engineering standards, employee onboarding guides, product documentation, and engineering documentation. Provide personnel administration for squad members, including hiring, setting, and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, motivating, rewarding, and guiding career development. Help integrate squads that mix veteran team members eager for new tasks and new team members looking to grow their skill sets.

What You'll Bring:

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field and 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineering-related occupation.

 

Experience must include:

 

1. 5 years of software development experience with strong emphasis on writing code and delivering features;

2. 5 years of experience building & maintaining highly scalable, performant and fault tolerant data processing pipelines on any Cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP);

3. 4 years of experience in a technical leadership (including Tech Lead, Staff Engineer roles) capacity building services that are consumed by internal and external stakeholders (Engineering groups, Analytics, Digital Products, Innovation groups etc.);

4. 4 Years Collecting and using metrics to fine tune services and reduce latencies in data processing pipelines;

5. 5 Years experience in Code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, and application security and excellent instincts for software architecture;

6. 5 years experience with one or more of the following: TypeScript, Python, REST APIs, Java, .NET, JavaScript, or NodeJS; and

7. 5 years of experience in Agronomic Domain or Ag Tech is required 

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

 

The salary for this role, in Loveland, CO, is $206,690.00 per year. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
