The Manager, Procurement Governance is a critical role within Nutrien’s Procurement function. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Governance and Process, you will lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of Procurement governance frameworks, including policies, standard operating procedures, compliance mechanisms, and training documentation.
This position ensures operational excellence through effective process design, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder collaboration, ultimately driving accountability and process maturity across Nutrien’s Procurement organization.
What you will do:
- Support the development and execution of Procurement’s Governance Framework, aligned to the Procurement Governance Strategy, including governance standards required for procurement systems, in collaboration with system and process owners to ensure consistent utilization and compliance.
- Facilitate and lead cross-functional business process analysis to identify documentation gaps, implement improvement plans, and required change management.
- Draft, review, and manage the publication lifecycle of procurement policies and procedures in collaboration with internal stakeholders across Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream Procurement, Category Management, ESG, Strategic Inclusion, Legal, Internal Audit, and others.
- Manage and modernize Procurement SharePoint sites and associated document libraries to improve accessibility, usability, and version control.
- Drive the creation and maintenance of procurement process documentation (process maps, policies, standards, procedures, work instructions) to support global consistency.
- Oversee recurring governance activities, such as compliance reporting, risk identification, and audit readiness, and support resulting continuous improvement initiatives
- Support functional risk management efforts by identifying procurement and supply chain risks, and contributing to resolution of mitigation strategies and internal controls.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and peer leadership within the Governance & Enablement team.
- Lead change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new or updated policies, tools, and processes.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Law, or a related field is required.
- Professional certifications such as SCMP, CPSM, or equivalent are considered an asset.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Governance.
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial capacity, ideally within a large, centralized organization.
- Demonstrated experience in governance, policy development, and process improvement.
- Practical experience with Source-to-Pay systems and spend management tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba).
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing complex, high-impact projects.
- Expert-level knowledge in business process documentation, process mapping, and policy writing.
- Motivated self-starter with strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative tools such as SharePoint and Teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive results under tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- Collaborative and inclusive mindset, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
- Sound professional judgment with the ability to handle confidential or sensitive issues appropriately.
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO, is between $105,300 - $180,500. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
