Reporting to the Director, Capital Portfolio Management, the Senior Capital Portolio Manager will provide leadership, governance, and strategic direction to ensure sustainable and efficient execution of Nutrien’s current and future Nitrogen capital portfolio. This role oversees major capital projects and turnarounds, mitigates enterprise risk, and drives cost savings and efficiencies across the Operating Segment. Successful candidates for this role must be highly motivated and have the ability to lead and coach people to maintain the highest levels of expertise and performance. The ability to work successfully in an environment with minimal supervision and a high degree of interaction between management, teams and individuals will be critical to success in this role.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead governance, direction, and execution of the Nitrogen capital portfolio, ensuring alignment with long- and short-term strategic objectives.
  • Oversee major capital projects and turnarounds, mitigating enterprise risk and driving project success.
  • Analyze portfolio performance, identify trends and risks, and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Standardize and continuously improve capital processes across Nitrogen, ensuring sufficient front-end engineering development.
  • Coach and guide Site Capital Portfolio Managers through planning cycles and portfolio changes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with site teams, procurement, and corporate functions to optimize scope, costs, and technical confidence.
  • Support monthly forecasting, annual capital submissions, and 5-year plans to align with corporate strategy.
  • Champion asset reliability by proactively addressing end-of-life issues.
  • Travel up to 30% to engage with sites and stakeholders.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business or related field; P.Eng./PE preferred.
  • 10+ years’ technical and managerial experience in capital portfolio and major projects within chemical/nitrogen, mineral processing, or similar industries.
  • 5+ years of production site experience.
  • PMP and/or MBA considered assets.

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

The salary range for this role, in Loveland, Colorado, is between $127,500 - $218,600 USD. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
