Reporting to the Sr Manager, Rotating Equipment, the Sr Engineer NROC is responsible for developing predictive analytics and advanced analysis tools to perform exception-based remote monitoring of rotating equipment at 10 manufacturing sites in the Nitrogen business unit from the Nitrogen Real-time Operations Center (NROC) located in Loveland, CO.
The Sr Engineer NROC will collaborate with other technical experts and site personnel to develop monitoring tools to monitor and troubleshoot issues with rotating equipment, including long-term equipment performance degradation and early warning detection, as well as develop strategies for rotating equipment optimization.
What will you do:

- Provide real-time predictive exception-based monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization activities for rotating equipment as part of a cross-functional team.
- Provide technical ownership and continual improvement of monitoring systems using software applications, data, alarms, and analytics.
- Identify innovative applications of new analytics technologies.
- Detect operational threats associated with rotating equipment and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop strong, collaborative relationships with a wide stakeholder network.
- Provide specialized technical support for maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation.
- Coach and mentor site personnel on equipment monitoring, troubleshooting and optimization using the NROC platform.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you will bring:
- Education & Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- 10 years of industrial experience with rotating equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Industrial experience in fertilizer or petrochemical facilities preferred.
- Professional Engineer or Technologist designation preferred.
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of the thermodynamics of compression and expansion cycles.
- Familiarity with API Standards and Process Industry Practices (PIP) for rotating equipment.
- Proficiency in vibration analysis for rotating equipment.
- Knowledge of lubrication practices and condition monitoring techniques.
- Process safety management familiarity.
- RCM certification is an asset.
- Skills:
- Record of 10 years related rotating equipment experience.
- Experience with Siemens, Dresser-Rand, Delaval, Nuovo Pignone, MHI, and GE machinery.
- Skilled in SAP, Oracle, Bently Nevada, Emerson AMS, Seeq, OSIsoft, and Honeywell Uniformance software tools.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
- Abilities:
- Continuous improvement and reliability mindset.
- Acts independently in a technical subject matter expert role.
- Capability to travel to Nutrien facilities when necessary.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range for this role is $132,400 - $198,600 per year. This range is estimated for Senior Engineer, NROC Rotating Equipment under the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and the Washington Equal Pay & Opportunities Act. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
