Nutrien Ag Solutions, Inc. has an opening for Senior Manager, Software Engineering in Loveland, CO.

What you'll do:

 

  • Lead multiple squads of software developers.
  • Help development teams tackle challenging problems, breaking problems into workable chunks, using iterative development and leveraging software architecture design patterns.
  • Partner with Product Management, UX Development, Cloud Engineering, Architecture and business stakeholders to create support roadmaps and release schedules.
  • Communicate project status and escalate issues to direct managers, product management, and internal development partners.
  • Lead high-level estimation exercises for product releases.
  • Oversee the development of SaaS and Mobile products.
  • Champion Agile methodologies and practices to creating repeatable and predictable software releases.
  • Identify software delivery problems within squads and use knowledge and experience to help resolve issues.
  • Communicate release issues early, and work with product management, architecture, IT and others to mitigate issues.
  • Define metrics for all development teams, oversee implementation of metrics measurement and report on KPIs to executive leadership.
  • Advance the development of engineering standards, employee onboarding guides, product documentation, and engineering documentation.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions.
  • Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects.
  • Deliver best-in-class software by mentoring development team leads, and individual contributors on software development best practices.
  • May telecommute within commuting distance.
  • Background check required.

 

What you'll bring: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and 12 years of experience in the job offered or in a software developer-related occupation.
  • 12 years of experience in software development, with a proven track record in delivering web and native applications.
  • Active application development experience with the recent projects within the last 5 years.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in building highly scalable and secure cloud-based applications and REST services.
  • 5 years of experience in CI/CD pipeline implementation, integrating automated testing processes for web and native applications utilizing Jenkins, CircleCI or similar platforms.
  • Experience building enterprise application using the following tech stack within the past 5 years: HTML, CSS, React Native, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, serverless computing & microservice architecture.
  • 5 years of People Management experience.
  • Managing team sizes of 6+ members performing software development.
  • Working with various business units to ensure executing to the overall vision.
  • Overseeing the delivery of products from concept to execution.
  • Precision Agriculture domain experience.
  • Scrum or other Agile framework experience including leading Scrum teams.

 

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary $206,648/annually. This salary is estimated for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering in the State of Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
