What You'll Do:

 

  • Own and oversee all preboarding activities, including recruitment coordination, pre-employment checks, work authorization, and Day One readiness
  • Ensure consistent, timely, and accurate execution of pre-employment requirements across regions
  • Drive standardization of preboarding processes and alignment to the broader onboarding lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian, and other applicable regulatory and policy requirements
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to interpret and operationalize legislative requirements
  • Set clear performance expectations and service level agreements (SLAs); monitor team performance and service quality
  • Define, monitor, and analyze KPIs to assess service delivery effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management for team members, cultivating a culture of service excellence and continuous learning
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture aligned to Nutrien’s core values
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, standardization, and workflow optimization
  • Partner with HR Technology teams (e.g., SuccessFactors, ServiceNow) to enhance system capabilities and improve efficiency
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Hiring Managers, and HR Operations to ensure seamless hire-to-onboard transitions
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or high-risk cases
  • Manage relationships with external vendors (e.g., background check providers, immigration partners) to ensure service quality and compliance

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including demonstrated leadership in a shared services environment
  • Strong knowledge of preboarding/onboarding processes and compliance requirements across North America
  • Experience operating in high-volume, SLA-driven environments with defined performance metrics
  • Strong analytical skills with experience defining and driving improvements through KPIs and data insights
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Solution-oriented mindset with a track record of building strong relationships across teams and functions
  • Experience with HR technologies including SuccessFactors, SAP, and ServiceNow
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
