What You'll Do:

 

  • Safety & Compliance
    • Champion and sustain a strong safety culture where health, safety, and environmental performance meet or exceed company and regulatory standards
    • Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements
    • Model and reinforce Nutrien’s Culture of Care, with safety as a non‑negotiable value
  • Operations & Performance
    • Lead daily plant operations to achieve targets in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, delivery, and cost
    • Align production planning and seed inventory with S&OP objectives to meet customer demand
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles, OEE, 5S, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventative actions
    • Partner with Sales to support growth initiatives and deliver outstanding customer outcomes
  • Leadership & People Development
    • Lead, coach, and develop hourly and professional employees through effective supervision, training, and performance management
    • Foster a collaborative, team‑based environment that supports engagement, accountability, and inclusion
    • Participate in hiring, employee relations, discipline, and exit processes as needed
    • Manage staffing, scheduling, and time‑off planning to support operational requirements
  • Financial & Asset Management
    • Develop, manage, and control departmental budgets, driving profitability through cost discipline and waste reduction
    • Own the annual CAPEX plan and oversee execution of approved projects
    • Create and manage a 3–5‑year CAPEX roadmap focused on process optimization, asset reliability, and sustained productivity improvements
    • Ensure preventative maintenance programs are in place to sustain and improve plant operations

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical); equivalent experience may be considered
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including 4+ years in a leadership, supervisory, or mentoring role
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing best practices, including SOP development, change management, and continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with employees, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to lead effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Experience in seed, agriculture, or related industries
  • PSM experience and training
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Familiarity with production planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes
