What you will do:

 

  • Champion SHE by conducting daily field audits, driving identified action items, and communicating findings and status with the production team.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing policies and practices that adhere to company, local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety requirements.
  • Functions as the plant manager when he/she is out.
  • Develop and manage planning processes and metrics incorporating capacity planning, scheduling, inventory controls and associated cost elements.
  • Coordinate with Operations to develop best manufacturing schedule to support business production forecasts as well as site efficiency expectations.
  • Perform analysis incorporating BOMs as well as historical material usage to assist the buyer in procuring materials.
  • Collaborate with production planners to balance and align production capabilities with business production requirements.
  • Provide leadership early notice of deviations that will occur between actual production and the production plan.
  • Be a communication liaison with production regarding interdepartmental, project, and management activities.
  • Establish methods that support inventory forecasts, purchasing cycles and materials controls.
  • Establish production scheduling metrics and tracking to monitor material inventories, production progress and other operational activities that affect schedules and customer delivery.
  • Develop and execute strategies to meet site business growth and sourcing needs.
  • Adhere to and administer established company policies and procedures encompassing HR and Work-related environment requirements.  
  • Collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to identify cost reduction opportunities while ensuring 100% on-time, in-full customer service.
  • Be the manufacturing representative on plant MOC’s, PSSR’s and project design reviews. 
  • Develop a communication cadence and frequency to update capital project teams, leadership, and maintenance regarding the status of action items, improvement programs, etc. associated with manufacturing.
  • Evaluate existing chemical processes and unit operations to improve SHE, operating efficiency, training documentation and skill development, reliability, rate, and product quality.
  • Work with Site Technical leadership to prioritize all Site initiatives, focusing on SHE initiatives, and provide needed operations resources to support.
  • Provide troubleshooting, problem solving, and incident investigation support when required.
  • Motivate, support, and provide guidance to production staff.
  • Work with direct supports to develop skill sets for future advancement based on their career aspirations.
  • Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing activities.
  • Develop production loss accounting metrics & report them regularly.
  • Ensure adequate scheduling of staff.
  • Setting productivity goals for the manufacturing team.
  • Develop workflow practices the improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
  • Communicate regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

What you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related discipline; experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in a production supervision role.
  • Maintain and provide current understanding of industry practices and trends.
  • Identify tools, processes, and metrics to optimize supplier value.
  • Leads personnel by example to create a challenging and collaborative working environment.
  • Financial skills including cost modeling and cost analysis.
  • A working knowledge of SAP.
