What you will do:
- Organize and supervise work activities of staff, both permanent and seasonal, in receiving, storing, packaging and distributing of materials.
- Responsible for supervision of warehouse staff, both permanent and seasonal, including managing job assignment and break schedules in order to effectively and efficiently complete warehouse tasks on time.
- Assist plant management in the implementing of all aspects of human resource management, including performance management (which involves discipline and work assessments), training, coaching, making recommendations for hiring and discharging.
- Support and assist plant management, in all cost control measures, which include overtime management, expense control and productivity.
- Use SAP for functions including but not limited to: Reviewing inventory levels, printing reports of Finished Goods inventory to ensure FIFO and receiving.
- Maintain procedures for the efficient and safe warehousing of all merchandise received with regard to space, accessibility and positioning. Ensure all received material is undamaged and the volume is correctly delivered.
- Evaluate safety, security and housekeeping levels on a daily basis by reviewing warehouse operations to ensure warehouse is clean, secure and well organized, and that damage to product, equipment and facility is prevented.
- Supervise and participate in housekeeping programs, which promote safe working conditions and provide neat, clean appearance.
- Implement improved operational processes that enhance warehouse efficiency by delegating tasks, coordinating with Logistics on working capacities during high traffic volumes.
- Conduct daily equipment readiness checks on forklifts, reporting any needed repairs immediately to Safety Coordinator and Maintenance Manager.
- Perform regular checks on pack line equipment, tote filling equipment, and other regularly used equipment.
- Comply with and enforces all Nutrien Ag Solutions and Industry regulatory and Safety, Health and Environment standards at all times. Ensuring PPE is worn at all times by everyone and encouraging a culture of safety.
- Work with Logistics department to ensure customer products flow according to plan. Orders picked accurately in a safe, timely and effective manner. All orders to be staged and checked for accuracy, trailers loaded as per order of delivery.
- Participate in the inventory management and control procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree required, experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- 2 + years of leadership/supervisory experience.
- 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in a warehousing environment preferred.
- Computer skills in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and SAP.
