Senior Engineer, Process Safety Management (PSM)

In Trinidad & Tobago, we operate one of the world's largest nitrogen complexes with 4 ammonia plants and 1 urea plant on 165 acres of Trinidad's sheltered west coast.  

What you will do:

• Lead site wide PSM activities to ensure technical support to management and the Operations, Health and Safety, Maintenance, Environmental and Engineering departments.
• Ensure the site maintains compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 and Corporate PSM requirements.  
• Champion site Annual Process Safety Assessments, 3-year PSM Compliance Audits, 5-year Revalidation PHAs, 5-year Applicability Review, and provide support for same at other Nutrien sites on an as-needed basis.  
• Manage all site’s PSM program changes and improvements, and implement Company PSM policies, procedures and strategies.
• Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting of PSM action items from PSE Incidents, PHAs, ORMs and PSM Compliance Audits, and coordinates site PSM Corrective Action Plan Management for same. 
• Review MOCs and PSSRs for PSM compliance and quality assurance prior to management approval. 
• Manage Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), PSM Assessment/Audit programs and lead Taproot Incident Investigations.  
• Champion Facility Siting Studies and updates. 
• Perform engineering calculations for relief systems and equipment sizing as required.  
• Effectively manage all site PSM documentation.   

What you will bring:

• Bachelor of Science  Degree in an Engineering discipline from a recognized university. Chemical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 10  years’ experience in a PSM-covered process or industry preferred.
