In Trinidad & Tobago, we operate one of the world's largest nitrogen complexes with 4 ammonia plants and 1 urea plant on 165 acres of Trinidad's sheltered west coast.  

 

What you will do:

  • Foster a culture that prioritizes and supports the safe execution of all tasks, ensuring safety is an integral part of daily operations.
  • Ensure, support, and drive continuous improvement with Process Safety Management (PSM) such as MOC’s, PSSR's, PHA's,  Procedure Reviews, emergency response, etc.
  • Ensure timely implementation and ongoing reviews of Operations Excellence, Asset Management, and Process Safety/EMS standards and/or best practices within the department.
  • Ensure that the department site goals and objectives are met and provide clear strategies for optimization of planned performance.        
  • Continuously monitor performance, operating conditions, and raw material usage to determine potential problems and ensures that corrective action is taken.
  • Lead coordination with maintenance and reliability teams to improve plant safety, efficiency, reliability, and availability of assets.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager Operations to recommend all operational improvements to the process and facilitate reduction in cost and improvement in efficiency.
  • Review and analyze plant reliability data (such as “lost tons”) and develop plans with Operations and Maintenance personnel to improve plant reliability. Also work with the Process Engineering and Technical       Services departments on longer-term (capital projects) solutions to reliability problems.
  • Leverage performance indicators to drive sustainable improvements in processes and organizational culture, ensuring data-driven decision making and continuous enhancement.
  • Lead coordination with the Operations Coordinators in the planning prioritizing and scheduling of maintenance work.
  • Lead coordination with Operations Coordinators in the planning and prioritizing of opportunity outage jobs.
  • Plan and coordinate with TAR Planning and Maintenance Execution on all planned shutdown and turn around activities.
  • Manage priorities, staff availability, and time to ensure optimization of resources and overtime reduction.
  • Manage performance within the operations team by ensuring that preparation of SMART performance goals for the Operations Supervisors and conducts employee performance reviews.
  • Promote a culture of employee care by fostering the development and recognition of employee talents in a constructive and enabling work environment.

 

What you will bring:

  •         Bachelor Science degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Process Engineering from an accredited educational institution
  •         Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in process plan operations       
  •         Minimum of five (5) years’ Leadership experience
  •         Professional Engineer designation (P.E.) is an asset
