Nutrien Trinidad is hiring a range of skilled Technicians, Mechanical, from levels II - IV

 

What you will do:

 

     Technician II:

  • Understand the elements of creating a safe work environment for all employees/contractors by being knowledgeable of and compliant with all applicable safety, health and environmental (SHE) requirements, leading by example, and promoting a positive SHE attitude/culture to all.
  • Participate in the review of jobs prior to execution and develop plans to mitigate or eliminate SIFs (Serious Injury or Fatalities)
  • Aid in the identification and analysis of job hazards and ensure that all safety systems and crew members are in compliance with the requirements.
  • Carry out all maintenance and installation work on plant and associated facilities demonstrating an acceptable level of quality with a minimum amount of supervision and adhering to established standards, work method sequences and safe practices.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance work on shift or on overtime as dictated by plant requirements.
  • Install mechanical equipment as required with the supervision of Senior Technicians or Supervisor.
  • Perform associated work, e.g. lubrication, scaffolding and lifting, cleaning of machinery and parts.
  • Complete detailed quality control checklists for the completion of works.
  • Assist supervisor in inspecting equipment and troubleshooting malfunctions to determine what maintenance work is necessary.
  • Maintain updated documentation on all Mechanical systems including the entry of maintenance notes and historical data on the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications for troubleshooting and repairs.

     Additionally, for Tehnician III:

  • Participate in equipment failure analysis, incident, and accident investigations to find root cause.
  • Operate and maintain support equipment as required - crane, forklift, shop equipment, pneumatic and electric tools.
  • Notify Supervisor of unusual equipment condiion or performance and recommend action to be taken.
  • Supervise temporary workers as required.
  • Identify defects and enter work requests or requisitions to correct them.

 

 Additionally, for Tehnician IV:

  • Work flexible hours when the need arises.
  • Liaise with other departments such as Operations/Engineering/SHE to design and implement new systems.

 

What you will bring:

 

    Techncian II:

  • Mechanical Engineering Technology Technician’s Diploma with a minimum 5 years’ experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems in the Petrochemical industry

     Technician III:

  • Mechanical Engineering Technology Technician’s Diploma with a minimum 8 years’ experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems in  the Petrochemical industry

 

      Technician IV:

  • Mechanical Engineering Technology Technician’s Diploma with a minimum 12 years’ experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems in  the Petrochemical industry
