This position is located at Nutrien's Joffre, Alberta site (approximately 25km East of Red Deer).

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Model Nutrien’s core values of safety and integrity, lead and enable an inclusive culture in which you and your team are actively contributing to a safe work environment by utilizing Nutrien’s culture of care
  • Complete level appropriate engineering studies, calculations, modeling, and simulation of facility processes
  • Develop and maintain process efficiency and energy monitoring dashboards
  • Provide process engineering support to capital project development and design
  • Design, implementation, and closure of process related projects using the management of change process
  • Provides support to operations related to process controls and safety systems, including leading of operational risk assessments
  • Maintains Operations Process Simulator and facility digital twin, including monitoring of facility key process performance indicators

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in chemical, petroleum, controls engineering or equivalent (consideration will be given to equivalent experience and training)
  • P. Eng in good standing with APEGA, APEGS, PEO or equivalent Canadian body
  • 5+ years experience in an operating facility preferred
  • Experience with control system programming and documentation required
  • Knowledge of process simulation, and process monitoring theory, design, and application
  • Experience in data science applications including SAP HANA, MS Power Automate and MS PowerBI an asset
  • Experience with software including Aspen HYSYS, Unisim, Delta-V and PI an asset
