Technician, Loadout

Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the Loadout Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the loading systems and equipment associated with the Liquid NH3 loading processes.

This position is located at our Joffre, Alberta site and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:

• Participate in morning toolboxes, safety meetings, and inspections.
• Complete progression system within prescribed timeframe.
• Complete preventive maintenance on operating equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits.
• Complete daily loading activities as specified by the Operations Superintendent and Shipping Coordinator. Accomplished by a rotation based on the team personnel and daily shipping requirements of the Nutrien Shipping Department.

What you will bring:

• Knowledge of provincial and federal safety code requirements including TDG Regulations and Industrial Rail Operation Rules (IROR) preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment including Rail car mover and forklifts/skid steer preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated experience loading dangerous goods preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment and possess strong interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
• Ability to be able to multitask on a daily basis within the department.
• Able to work night shifts and additional hours as required.
