Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Process Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production units. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with the ability to exhibit strong decision making and problem-solving abilities. They should be comfortable working in a team environment and capable of prioritizing their workload while remaining focused in high stress or high pressure situations. Additionally, successful applicants must be able to maintain a “big picture” perspective, even in abnormal or upset conditions.
This position is located at our Redwater, Alberta, Canada site and is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
- Monitor and operate equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits.
- Report to the Supervisor, Operations to complete the day-to-day activities and focus on plant priorities and department objectives.
- Support safety, environmental, reliability and continuous improvement programs.
- Troubleshoot operational issues within the unit.
- Complete Laboratory testing as required.
- Isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance work.
- Start-up and shutdown the units as required.
- Maintain plant integrity – housekeeping, safety checks, routine maintenance.
- Complete all requirements in the Progression System
- Display a safe and productive work ethic.
What you will bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4th Class ABSA Steam Ticket required; 3rd Class ABSA Steam Ticket is preferred.
- Previous experience in an industrial environment
- Able to navigate through the software tools that Nutrien utilizes on a daily basis (SAP, ETQ, Power BI)
