Reporting to Sr. Manager, Maintenance, the Sr. Supervisor Electrical & Instrumentation is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations of E&I assets, and for developing and implementing maintenance strategies to support operational excellence. As a senior site leader, this position plays a key role in ensuring a safe and respectful workplace. This is a people leadership role with strong technical E&I competency. The leader is responsible for development of a high-performance E&I maintenance execution team, stewarding to asset management best practices and KPI’s as well as ensuring compliance with all codes, standards, and regulations. The Sr. Supervisor E&I provides leadership to the maintenance team through establishment of goals and objectives, career planning, contribution review, skills training, and development plans. Successful candidates for this role will possess strong leadership, communication, organizational, and team‑building skills and also bring proven problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities in a maintenance or operations setting.
What You'll Do:
- Provide strong people and technical leadership to Electrical & Instrumentation teams.
- Set clear priorities, coach and mentor employees, and ensure the team develops and sustains required technical competencies.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑performance team environment.
- Partner with Human Resources to support staffing, succession planning, performance management, and the development of a strong learning culture.
- Oversee repair and maintenance activities for E&I assets, including medium- and high‑voltage electrical systems and instrumentation.
- Use data‑driven decision making to optimize reliability, efficiency, and lifecycle performance of site assets.
- Collaborate with reliability, project, and turnaround (TAR) teams to support short‑ and long‑term asset management strategies.
- Support the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs for site E&I assets.
- Partner with site stakeholders and ETC specialists to develop, implement, and sustain E&I programs, policies, standards, and procedures.
- Maintain systems that capture equipment performance and maintenance history.
- Analyze data to prioritize work, guide replacement decisions, monitor productivity, and drive continuous improvement.
- Assess departmental capability and recommend training and development programs to prepare the team for evolving technologies and work practices.
- Work closely with mechanical maintenance, planning, reliability, and operations teams to safely and efficiently execute maintenance activities.
- Prepare and review reports, approve expenditures, and make informed decisions regarding materials and services procurement.
What You'll Bring:
- Journeyperson Electrical and/or Instrumentation Technician with 15+ years maintenance experience in the petrochemical or industrial processing industry OR Engineering degree (Electrical, Instrumentation, or related) with 10+ years maintenance experience in the petrochemical or industrial processing industry.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial plant environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of medium and high voltage electrical systems and instrumentation.
- Working knowledge of electrical safety codes and standards.
- Demonstrated safety leadership and commitment to life‑critical procedures.
- Experience managing or analyzing maintenance budgets and performance data.
