Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance Planning & Reliability, the Supervisor, Planning contributes to the safe and reliable operation of the facility by overseeing the planning of base maintenance and non-turnaround outage work orders. This role ensures work orders are prioritized, planned, and ready for scheduling before the execution date. The successful candidate for this role will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and present information effectively. The ability to lead, coach, and influence teams, with experience in performance management will be considered an asset in this role.
This position is located at Nutrien's Redwater, Alberta site and is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
- Drive improvements in planning backlog management, efficiency, and scheduling, addressing hurdles such as material expediting, vendor selection, documentation deficiencies, and scope clarification
- Manage the planning backlog, ensuring accurate Functional Locations, clear work descriptions, proper work centers, and high-quality job plans
- Assign planners to new work orders and outages, ensuring work is fully planned before execution
- Maintain daily communication with the Gatekeeper to align priorities
- Lead and develop the Planning team, setting priorities, implementing best practices, and managing performance and career development
- Experience with metric tracking would be an asset
- Provide guidance to buyers and expeditors to ensure timely procurement of materials for scheduled work
- Monitor planner productivity and drive continuous improvement in team efficiency
What you will bring:
- Trade Certificate, Technical Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years experience in an industrial plant setting
- Strong expertise in maintenance planning aligned with Nutrien’s planning standards, safe work practices, and work management processes
- Knowledge of plant operations, equipment, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with construction codes
- Strong leadership in Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Proficiency in SAP PM Module (Intermediate to Advanced)
