Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Operations, and with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Manager, TAR & Capital Projects, the Supervisor, Operations (TAR) will oversee and support the identification, planning, preparation, execution, and commissioning of TAR scope in accordance with TAR Stage Gate objectives. This role ensures the consistent application of best practices across all operational units at the Redwater site. The Supervisor will lead Operations personnel assigned from various unit areas, working to achieve excellence in all phases of TAR preparation, execution, and commissioning. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and planning abilities, coupled with a self-directed approach to problem-solving and achieving results. They will maintain a positive, can‑do attitude, foster strong relationships, and collaborate effectively to build a high‑performing team through strong leadership and clear communication.
What You'll Do:
- Lead representatives from all Redwater operational units (e.g. Sulphate, Ammonia/Urea, etc.) to identify and prioritize scope, support planning & scheduling, execution, and commissioning of the major TAR events with a 4-5 year lookahead.
- Drive activities to achieve the TAR Stage Gate timelines for each specific operational area.
- Act as primary Operations contact for TAR & Capital Project development & execution.
- Support the risk ranking of TAR scope and projects by evaluating and prioritizing activities based on budget allocations, ensuring that resources are directed toward the highest-value and most critical operational needs.
- Ensure best practices are effectively implemented and leveraged consistently for TAR planning, execution, and commissioning for all Units in Operations.
- Oversee the integration of commissioning activities with overall TAR schedules, ensuring that commissioning milestones are aligned with project timelines and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with planning teams to proactively identify schedule risks and implement mitigation strategies to achieve seamless transition from execution to commissioning phases.
- Act as the main Operations focal point for coordination of preparation of multiple concurrent TAR events.
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other corporate personnel to ensure successful TAR execution while maintaining safe, reliable production between major scheduled TAR events.
- Provide technical knowledge and site expertise for the development and implementation of other TAR improvement-related strategies.
- Monitor and report routinely on the status of key TAR activities as they relate to Operations, communicating key TAR performance indicators effectively to key stakeholders in the organization.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum 3rd class Power Engineer Certificate
- 10+ years' of site operational experience
- Knowledgeable in Redwater Site Operations
- Understanding of Nutrien Safety and TAR programs, standards and procedures
