What You'll Do:

 

Strategic Business Leadership

  • Develop and execute regional crop protection strategies that align with company objectives and market opportunities.
  • Drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and market share gains through effective portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to establish and achieve annual business goals.

 

Portfolio & Supplier Management

  • Lead relationships with key manufacturing partners and suppliers to maximize program participation, rebate opportunities, and business results.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier programs, allocations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure alignment with company expectations and customer demand.

 

Inventory & Demand Planning

  • Develop regional demand forecasts and inventory strategies to ensure product availability while minimizing inventory risk and carrying costs.
  • Manage product allocations across all geographies to maximize profitability, support customer demand, and optimize inventory utilization.
  • Partner with operations and procurement teams to maintain inventory accuracy, turnover objectives, and supply chain efficiency.

 

Financial & Performance Management

  • Manage regional sales performance, gross margins, rebate programs, and profitability objectives.
  • Analyze business results and key performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Develop and implement action plans to achieve financial and operational targets.

What You'll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in crop protection, agronomy, agricultural retail, or related agricultural industries.
  • Deep knowledge of crop protection products, production agriculture, and agronomic practices.
  • Proven success managing supplier relationships, product portfolios, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing revenue, margins, forecasting, rebates, and inventory investments.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

 

Travel

  • Up to 50% travel throughout the assigned region to support customers, suppliers, employees, and business initiatives.

 

Success in This Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver strong revenue growth and profitability across the crop protection portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships that create competitive advantages.
  • Optimize inventory and allocation decisions to balance product availability, risk, and profitability.
  • Provide trusted technical leadership to sales teams and customers.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements while promoting product stewardship and safety.
  • Drive continuous improvement and position the region for long-term growth and success.

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

 

The estimated salary that Indeed, Glassdoor and LinkedIn suggested does not represent Nutrien's compensation structure.   

 

The salary range for this role, in California, Colorado, Washington, Nevada and Hawaii is between $120,000 - $190,000. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

 

We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. In addition, we have a retirement program that encourages our employees to save for the longer term, with generous matching employer contributions.  Our benefit package also demonstrates our culture of care with paid vacation, sick days and holidays as well as paid personal and maternity/parental leaves and an Employee and Family Assistance Program.  Details of the benefits package will be shared in the application process.  

 

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
