Discover more about potash at Nutrien! An exciting co-op opportunity awaits a motivated student at our Rocanville Potash site beginning September 2024 for a 16-month term. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete. This position is not available for remote work.

 

What you will do:

  • Assist the department with a variety of duties, including:
    • Design, analysis, and modeling of new and upgraded mechanical components
    • Work with Autodesk Inventor to model parts and assemblies
    • Provide field support to engineers and trades in an Underground Mining Environment
    • Designs and modifications to increase safety and reliability of our equipment fleets including mining machines, conveyors and other mobile equipment
    • Project work, encompassing scope definition, tender document creation and ongoing support of contracts
    • Troubleshooting and failure analysis
    • Assist with document and drawing management

 

What you will bring:

  • Must be currently enrolled and completed at least 2 years of an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program (or equivalent) at an accredited post-secondary institution AND returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • You are available to work 40 hours/week from September 2024 to December 2025
  • Demonstrated positive safety behaviour and safety leadership
  • Preference will be given to candidates with mining or heavy industrial experience
