Mine Engineer in Training (EIT) or Geologist in Training (GIT) - Saskatoon, SK, Canada
The Mine EIT/GIT will report to the Sr. Geologist, Mine Development in the Potash Engineering, Technology & Capital group, as well as the Chief Mine Engineer on site during site placement(s).
This is a temporary position, for 18 months.
It is intended that this position will be located at our one of our Saskatchewan sites or our New Brunswick site for 12 months, but there is a possibility of the role moving to another site before the 12-month rotation is complete.
What you will do:
The EIT will be placed in a site rotational program where they are stationed at a specific mine site for a 6 to 12-month term and then moved to the next mine site based on project priorities.
- As a part of the site Mine Engineering team, engage in a range of mine engineering services including rock mechanics, mine ventilation, and geotechnical and geophysical work.
- Actively participate in safety programs.
- Miscellaneous assignments as they arise due to need and priority.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or equivalent from an accredited university
- Ability to register with local Engineering Governing body (Association for Professional Engineers and Geoscientists)
- Willingness to learn
- Demonstrated safety leadership and positive safety behavior independently and in a team environment
- Possess excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
- Strong technical ability and analytic skills
- Ability to adapt to changing timelines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated accountability
