What you will do:
The candidate will be part of the Mine Engineering department, with opportunities to work in a variety of activities including:
- Conducting ground inspections, and designing and implementing ground support systems and rock mechanics monitoring
- Working on mine ventilation projects, including mine design, emissions controls and reduction, and field inspections
- Working with Mine Operations, developing and implementing mine designs, production schedules, and resource estimates
- Selecting and managing mining equipment and technologies to maximize productivity and minimize costs
- Monitoring and analyzing mine performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing optimization strategies
- Collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and other professionals to gather data and interpret geological information
- Conducting feasibility studies and economic analyses to evaluate the viability of new mining projects
- Preparing technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline
- Eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers of Saskatchewan
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground operating mine sites (preferred)
- Technical proficiency in Rock Mechanics
- Technical proficiency in Mine Ventilation
- Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCad, Amine, or alternate drafting and mining software
- Proficiency with mine planning software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to complete work in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods
- Retain a positive attitude and customer focused approach
- Ability to prioritize and work as part of a team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to lead and develop people
- Ability to provide coaching and mentoring
- Ability to work underground
