What You'll Do:
Â
- Demonstrate positive safety behaviors and safety leadership through working safely and effectively in a team setting as well as independently
- Present existing and new training materials to employees in both a classroom and on-the-job setting
- Work with departments to assess training needs, conduct skills gap analyses and provide constructive feedback and recommendations on how to support employee learning and development
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop new training programs for new processes or equipment and update existing material
- Evaluate departmental training programs, gathering information pertaining to training material and offering solutions on how to improve existing training materials
- Coordinate training within multiple departments
- Monitor and evaluate trainee performance and ensure competency and compliance with safety and operational standards
- Maintain appropriate training records for all employeesÂ
What You'll Bring:
Â
- Grade 12 diploma or GED Equivalent, with experience in underground operating/maintenance – In house journeyperson or Interprovincial Red SealÂ
- Strong safety commitment
- Knowledge of OH&S regulations as well as Mine Regulations
- Experience in the operation of mobile equipment
- Superior computer skills are required, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to manage conflict
- Excellent organizational skills, problem solving, time and priority management
- Ability to multitask in a high paced environment
- Earn the trust of, and collaborate with, internal stakeholders across the BU within maintenance, operations, planning and projects, building commitment and support to implement positive change and respond to operational needs and value-drivers
- Excellent leadership skills to help bring accountability to the team by creating a supportive and motivating work environment
- Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training
