What you will do:

 

  • Process and prioritize incoming orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness of order details.
  • Pick, Pack, and prepare orders for shipping in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
  • Determine the most cost-effective and efficient shipping methods for each order, considering factors such as destination, weight, and delivery time requirements.
  • Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other required documentation using shipping software systems.
  • Arrange transportation and logistics for all shipments, including coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, and custom brokers.
  • Track and monitor the status of shipments in transit, proactively addressing any delays or issues to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Communicate with customers, carriers, and internal team members to provide shipment updates, resolve inquiries, and address any concerns or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipping activities, including tracking numbers, freight costs, and delivery conformations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations, (DOT/IMDG Ocean Freight) including hazardous materials handling and customs requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in shipping operations and implement best practices to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Accountable for all operations of location. (Warehousing, logistics, inventory, and loading shipping containers)
  • Ensure that a safe working environment is always maintained by enforcing company standards and following up on regular safety inspections.
  • Make sure all inventory is correct and in good shape before receiving.
  • Properly complete Hazardous documents when shipping dangerous good via ocean freight.
  • Ensure that hazardous materials being shipped are label properly for ocean freight.

What you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree: relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of experience, preferably in inventory and logistics; including 1+ years’ operating a forklift and material handling equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel, Word and Outlook are an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on ensuring the integrity of shipment data and documentation.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues and finding solutions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • MUST HAVE or be WILLING to obtain Shipping Dangerous Goods By Sea Certification.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range $66,560-$74,667 annually. This range is estimated for a Logistics Specialist on Sacramento, CA. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
